I need to install a vent for a bathroom fan. The bathroom is in the basement. I have venting for my furnace that runs directly above my planned new bath. Can I tap into this pipe and use it to vent the moisture out of my bathroom? |

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. It could create a path for carbon monoxide to get from the furnace vent into the bathroom. I don't know code, but it is the sort of thing likely code forbids. Furnace vents also sometimes have condensation problems, and moist air from a bath could only add to the problems. Better run the bath vent out the side wall. |
