Do only Iowa residents vote in the Iowa Caucasus? If so, why do they have only one state vote? Shouldn't they let the entire nation decide who the Democratic candidate will be?
Many thanks,

Given that maybe 100,000 people will vote there it seems like it would be an insignificant event . Candidates go there early to get a maximum media exposure at a relatively low cost to their campaigns. Iowa and New Hampshire are the few States of contention where the candidates have enough time to meet the electorate ,chew the fat ,and see what is on their minds . Later on ,there will be larger States to contend ,and days of multiple primaries where the message will have to be transmitted by mass media . As we all know the media has a way of pre-selecting the favorite of the campaign. |
