What is an Educational Software? ---- After my Myer-Briggs test in my University it said I can be a good Educational Software Developer (ESD) besides other professions. I like writing demonstration and educational software, I just didnt think that it is a real part of software development and I can be an ESD for all my life. Thats cool! I am not sure exactly what software is included in educational software. Does it include demonstration software also? How can I break into the ESD career? (I have 2 years of experience as a SD and 2 years of education in Computer Science). Another question: I heard a lot that software developers need to support their skills by constant education. I cont mind constant education, I just dont know how should I educate myself to state marketable. Can I self-study, read books on subjects I need to learn? Maybe i shoult take certificates? How can I prove to my current and future employees that I am moving with technology? |

Educational software is any software used to teach. It can be something like Reader Rabbit on up to CBT (Computer Based Training) where you teach by using demos and examples.
The entire computer industry is in a state of flux. All IT pros need to keep up with the industry, not just developers/coders. You can do it in a variety of ways including classes, trade journals, books, CBTs etc.
Hope this helps, Scott u
