tuition fee camxin 06/22/04
My friend, Amber is seventeen years of age and decided to do a course in bar management with that private college. She signs a contract with the college for six months' tutition. She will be eighteen just after the expiry of the six month's tuition. A clause in the contract requires payment of the entire tuition fee within three weeks of admission to the course. Amber attended the three weeks' classes and then refuses to pay, stating that she is a minor and therefore the contract is void. What could happen to my friend, Amber and what could the college do? Could she be sent to court? What if her parents refuse to pay for her tuition and Amber, herself doesn't pay, does she have to end up going to a juvenile detention center?

Did Amber receive services for the three weeks? Was the training actually given? Did she correctly state her age upon admission?

She owes the money. Maybe she could beat it by saying that the contract is invalid because of her age. But if they did train her she owes the money.

The college would probably try to get the money from a parent or guardian.
If not, they would not verify that she had any training with them if a prospective employer inquired.

Is this question about an actual situation or just hypothetical?
