| Question on Photo Compressors for Resizing: |
headranger |
02/14/05 |
I am always trying to resize my digital pics for various reasons. I know there are applications that are for sale letting you do this...I believe they are called Photo Compressors and some allow you to resize using a set (2) of sliders. My Question: Does anyone know of a simple and FREE software application that one might avail themselves ? Appreciate any comments/Suggestions,

This site has no ratings! The Technology and the Web category has many good, and courteous, computer Experts. It also has moderators. You will receive good answers that day. Check it out. fredg
Clarification/Follow-up by fredg on 02/16/05 12:02 am: Hi, It would be very nice for an Expert here to post a suggestion without the "control" freak, ScottGem, questioning the Experts' motives.....suggestions come from different people all the time. However, ScottGem has to have his fingers in everything, and I do mean everything, all the time. Experts here have no freedom to express themselves on anything, without his constant interruptions and unwanted opinions. No one asked ScottGem to be a Moderator here, that is to harass EVERY question that is answered! Have a good day, and check out the other website. ScottGem doesn't harass there, cause the moderators will stop him. fredg Clarification/Follow-up by fredg on 02/16/05 3:34 am: Talk about garbage......... fredg

Hi, headranger, By "resize", I think you mean resizing the height and width, or length and width of an image or photo. I use Microsoft Picture It 99, Picture It Express 2000, and also Paint Shop Pro (which is around 100 dollars US). Another expert mentioned IrFanView. I have never used it, but the write up at CNET says it has image capability of sizing height and width. It is the most downloaded, free imaging program (about 800 Kb) of all others. It would be worth a try at:

Hopefully, it will have the option to change the height and width and at the same time, keep the proportions of each. If not, simply resize to your own specifications, like 3 in. x 5 in., or so, then see what the printed photo or image is like. Best of luck, fredg |
