If our church wishes to broadcast our church service over the web. And have it available to click to watch anytime during the week, what type of equipment and/or programs would be needed. Can this be done "in house" or do I need to hire a outside provider for this. |
Clarification/Follow-up by ScottGem on 10/07/04 12:30 am: With commercial broadband then that part shouldn't be an issue, but it can't hurt to check with the provider or your contract terms.
The way Answerway is set up, its easier to just look for new questions in the overall category, so cross posting is not necessary.

You will need cameras and you will need software to both stream the video and record it at the same time. You will also need software to interact with a web server and a web server or access to one.
The equipment is not that expensive and if you have someone knowledgeable it can be done in house. However, two key issues are connection and security. You will need a fast connection and you will need to discuss this with your carrier since most residential broadband prohibits running servers. If you decide to run your own WEB server, then you will want to keep it separate from your regular network for security reasons. Because of the above it might be more cost effective to use a WEB host service.
I would suggest doing some research by searching on video broadcasting at google.com or your favorite search engine.
Hope this helps, Scott<> |
