Arestin Treatment sallie00 10/11/07
My bone loss is 1 millimeter out of 10. So I have 90%of my bone. The dentist suggested I
get arestin treatment. I don't think it's necessary since the bone loss is so small.

The treatment will cost me $240.00 out of pocket.

    What is your opinion?

    Are there other options?

    Thanks in advance.

In general, I do not like to use antibiotics unless it's really necessary. May be you can try some supportive treatment first including thorough scale and clean and may be using an alcohol free chlorine dioxide mouthwash. Dietary, lifestyle and nutritional support is also important eg. quit smoking and alcohol, high fibre and low carbohydrate diet and vitamin / mineral supplementation.
