Toothache Choux 02/15/05
I have a question about toothaches. I have a toothache in an upper molar, the second one from the end(I have no wisdom teeth). For about two weeks now. I'm in my sixties and have semi-uncontrolled diabetes. That is the part that worries me. I want to know how long it "usually" takes before a tooth goes into abscess...from a dull ache to infection. It will take me awhile to "organize" a visit to the dentist. Thanks. Also, looking for reassurance. :)

Dear Chgoux

Toothache does not necessarily related to infection. However, acute abscesses can develop quite quickly and in some situations, within hours, can give a swolen face. "Organise" your dental visit ASAP.
