Do you have partial (still have some of your own teeth) or full denture. Without examinaion, there are too many possible causes. Just by guessing, some possible causes may be:
1.If you still have some of your own teeth, then it can be periodontal(gum) problem associated with your own teeth
2.Dentures should never be left in at bedtime. If you do , it can favour some fungal infection.
3.With age, especially if taking medications, there might be reduction in salivary flow resulting in chronic inflammation of the gum.
4.there might be pathological conditions with the underlying bone.
5.Can be poor fitting of the denturr.
6.Can be nutritional based problem.
7.In some situation, a soft lining might be able to help.
etc.etc.Check with your dentist. Good luck.
