Has your dentist checked for a cyst or pocket of infection inside your gum? Please ask him to do that. You might need an antiobiotic or even minor surgery to relieve something like that.

Gums shrink once teeth have been removed. Perhaps the denture is rubbing against thinly-covered bone? Your dentist can evaluate that too, and perhaps line the denture or file it down at the place of irritation.

If the dentist sees nothing wrong with your gums, I would seek another opinion, perhaps from a dental specialist.

I wish you a future free of pain!
