Years ago I possessed a small pocket-sized hard-backed book that listed 1000's of correctly spelled words in the English language ... WITHOUT DEFINITIONS ... just words!
Somehow the "book" got misplaced (lost), and I havn't been able to find a replacement anywhere.
Can you help me! Respectfully, me |

Good morning, ShenandoahMan.
Books like the one you're describing are still in use in public schools, particularly in programs for the handicapped. The most popular version--The Scholastic Dictionary of Spelling--is available from Amazon.com for $9.99 plus shipping.
But as an adult writer, I suspect that the book that you are looking for is Instant Spelling Dictionary by Margaret Dougherty. It, too, is available on Amazon.com and is still in print at this point despite an original publication date of 1980. Cassell's Spelling Dictionary is another popular choice also available at Amazon.
If you need other options, try googling "spelling dictionary".
Good luck in your search!
