I think what excon does not to go back is just not get caught. I have always enjoyed his imput and beleive that many of the people that has his side of the experience can truely tell you more about what will really happen, than alot of others that will tell you what should happen.

As with the hedges, first to the court what proof do you have that he did it. Pictures, witnesses that would actually tesify in court, that are not family members to you.
If so, in most states you could go to the county court and request a hearing for what ever that charge would be in your area.
Criminal trespass would be the charge for both the tresspass and the destroying the shrub in GA. That would be two courts, While the max would be one year in jail for each court, most likely, if he even gets to trail would be a small fine.

As for the cig butts, you would never prove they were his, and if you did, only that he littered, not trying to set a fire.
Even if he set the fire, he could claim it was an accident.

I can never advise anyone to do anything not legal.

But I will give two personal examples from my own life.
When one of my sons who is now 25 was about 7, we had a neighbor who would steal his balls if they got near the fence, and would curse him any time my son tried to be in our back yard. I could only walk with either two canes or a walker at the time, due to a very bad work accident, but I finally got enough of it, and had to "talk" to him using one of my canes. He would not even come out into the yard after that if my son or I was outside.

Not the Christian thing to do?? but our legal system was no help, the church was no help, so as a father I did what I had to do to protect my child.

This same son ( seems trouble followed him) when he was about 14 or 15 got mixed up with a drug dealer that went to the city park to get young boys to traffic drugs for him.
The police ( I worked for them) in this small town had tried everything to catch this man. But he would never carry the drugs hisself, always someone else. He merley got young boys to seel for him by offering "girls and money" to them.

Well this guy was good, he was from FLa and we could never link him officially with evidence that could be used in court.
Knowing, proving is one thing, getting the evidence in court is another.

Well he must not have known who I was, so he drove up in my drive way one day and honked for my son to come out. ( which makes me mad if he was a friend)
I came out the back door, held my 9MM to his head. I did not have a shell in the chanber and I let the gun go click. I then chanmbered a shell. But the click was all I needed, he wet hisself and I never saw him in my yard, or even in our town again.

While it is never right, and you risk getting into legal trouble yourself. There are many people who live by other ethics than we do, that only understand one way of talking,
