When my children were small, I used a liquid sho polish that was for scuffs. It really worked, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was called. If those are very expensive shoes, I would try a good leather conditioner first, to try to smooth out the leather as much as possible. then polish and buff. I am thinking the name of that polish was Scuff Magic. It didn't condition the leather, but it dyed the scratch, and you couldn't see the scratch at a distance. The leather at the site of the scratch was of course a litle rough. a good conditioner should help that a lot. I would buy a conditioner at a shoe shop, not at a drug store, super market, etc. Those are a cheap product, that CAN damamge good leather more than it helps. If you have a shoeshine stand near you, or in the building you work in, ask to buy conditioner from them. The quality product they use is far better than you can buy ib shoe stores etc. A shoe repair shop is youer second best place to but leather products. My daughter buys conditioner from the shoeshine in her building, and she reconditiones the leather loafers I had been wearing in the garden for 3 years. The leather was hard as a rock, and she used her conditioner on them, and they were soft as glove leather. I got many more years wear out of them. |
