Tom, will the Yankees have any trouble with the Angels? Not good that they have to play there the first two games. I can hardly wait for the Sox-Sox games! Tomorrow at 3 Central time.
Clarification/Follow-up by tomder55 on 10/04/05 6:19 am: key to beating the RED SOX Their pitching is horrible . The White Sox have to out slug them . Not an easy task but they have to decide to not let David Ortiz beat them . Manny Ramirez will do his damage and so will the rest of their lineup ;but Ortiz is the key . Give him nothing to hit. The White SOX have to be patient ;especially when Tim Wakefield is pitching . His nuckle ball can be hit but they have to wait on it and drive it back up the middle. They have NO bullpen . Once the starter is gone forget it . The Red Sox win 10-8 ball games ;they don't do as well with low scores . Take the extra base on their centerfielder .Damon cannot throw. Also steal the base on Varitek . Podsednik and Rowand are the key . The White Sox have a much better defense . I guess I'll watch the game when I get home . No chance of my staying up to see all the Yankee game. Clarification/Follow-up by tomder55 on 10/05/05 4:24 am: White Sox and Yanks are both up 1-0 !!! Will not be able to watch Yanks game tonight unless it goes into extra innings ;then I'll listen to it on my way to work in the morning. WE in NY get screwed every year . Games ending at midnight or later . 10:15 pm start for a game in the west coast. It sucks !! Baseball when I was a kid was an afternoon game. WE would listen on a little transistor radio for a couple of innings at school and watch the end before dinner. How do kids have a chance to see it now ? No wonder they all play soccer instead of baseball. Clarification/Follow-up by Choux on 10/05/05 6:17 am: Yippeeeeee!!!! I know what you mean about West coast nite games; I can't watch baseball in the middle of the nighr! LOLOL.. Let's hope the White Sox and Yankees meet for the Pennant. White Sox in three hours!!!! I got up early today to have plenty of time to do my chores before the game(and games). Baseball Fever, I have it!!!

the Angels are a tough out for the Yanks;always have been . They have arguably the best player in the game in Vladimir Guerrero. They have the probable Cy Young Award winner in tonights starter ,Bartello Colon. They have the deepest bull pen in the American league .Figgins had the most stolen bases in the league. They are good at playing 'small ball' whereas the Yanks specialize in the home run. They will take the extra base on the Yanks outfielders who all have suspect arms . They have a solid defensive outfield. The good news is that the Yanks pretty much match up with the starters .They are also very patient at the plate so the Angels will need to throw alot of pitches .They score alot of runs ;their defense is good in the infield ;and they are going into the series playing their best ball of the year. The key to the Yanks will be how long the starters go . They need to stay out of the middle relief as much as possible. Their late relief is the best in the game. Mariano River should be the Cy Young winner but they rarely give it to a closer . 43 saves and a 1.38 era; 8o ks in 78 innings pitched . Tom Gordon is a good set up guy and would be a closer on most teams .Should be fun . Today's game is key .Mike Mussina is questionable coming recently off elbow problems . He must go deep into the game today against Bartello Colon .Also ;the young Yankee starting pitchers who were not even on the roster at the beginning need to continue to contribute .
