| Taking down a basketball pole |

Hi retiredmanvan...Several years ago I put up a standard basketball hoop in my driveway for my two boys..Now they're gone from the home and I'd like to take it down and be rid of it ! My problem is that, following instructions, I filled the pole with cement...up to the top....for stability..I can dig the whole pole out of the ground but it's so heavy I can't move it...I can't find anyone to haul it away...I think I need to cut it up into sections... What can I use as a cutting tool--remember a steel pole filled with cement...Thanks |

Hi There,
The answer to your question is an easy one for me. I would use a reciprocating saw. some call it a sawzall. This tool with metal cutting blades will work to cut it up into many pieces for easy removal. Cutting the concrete make take a little time but it can be done.
All the best,
