Hi, CL. I just happened on to this, and thought that I would give you some data.
Of course the flight time depends on how fast you can go and how many times you need to land to refuel. Having said that, KLM flies this route in 13 hours, 35 minutes with a change of planes in Amsterdam. Flight 1228 flies the 259 miles from Paris (Charles deGalle airport) in one hour, 20 minutes. Then, flight 601 flies non-stop to Los Angeles in 11 hours, 15 minutes for the 5559 miles. Together, the flight distances are 5818, which is not too far off the 5661 non-stop milage from Paris to Los Angeles. If you want, you can work out for yourself what the flight time would be for a B-747 to go from Paris to Los Angeles, based on the flight time from Amsterdam to Los Angeles.
Take care, Dan |
