The history of paper airplanes is not well documented. What I found from a Google search is that there are various reports of paper airplanes dating back to around the time the Wright Brothers, among others, were inventing airplanes, but the earliest well documented paper airplane models are in the 1930s.
This is made more complicated by the overlap between models made with paper and the simple single-sheet folded paper airplane that kids now make nearly everywhere. |
