Climbing the Pyramids denberg 09/13/03
Is it possible to climb the Great Pyramid? I know the answer has to be "No" yet I recently saw a TV documentary with Graham Hancock which showed him doing just that - presenting the documentary and his ludicrous theories from the top of Khufu's pyramid!!!
I couldn't believe it when I saw it. But there he was. So, how can I get permission to climb the pyramid? I've wanted to do this all my life, but everything I've read on the subject gives me the impression that the Egyptian police will arrest you if you even try. So how do I arrange it for my forthcoming visit to Cairo? And before you say Ask Hancock - I've tried, but received no reply. Any suggestions?

You will need to have a very good reason to do so other then " want to". He got permission because he was doing a documentary film and had to go thru a lot of red tape to do it. I must be approved by the department of Antiquaties, the Cairo Museum ( they have juristiction) , the Egyptian Film Board, the Cairo Police, the Govt Censorship board etc...
My suggestion, don' bother trying.

Oh! and by the way even if you do try, expect to put down some bucks!
