One of the leading companies in this field is DataViz. Take a look at its ConversionsPlus product.
Note that as a practical matter, the only kinds of files you can convert are data files. There is no practical way to take an executable application from one platform and "convert" it to run on the other platform.
In some cases, little or no conversion is needed. Thus, for example, the various Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) inherently produce files (documents) that can be opened on either the Mac or the PC, as long as both machines have comparable versions of the Office program. Thus, you can prepare a PowerPoint file on a PC and send it as an e-mail attachment to someone with a Mac; the Mac person should be able to open up the PowerPoint file with their Mac versionn of PowerPoint.
Good luck. |
