racial theories aime-cinema 06/24/06
Is it true than "Mongoloids" are the highest on the human chain whereas "Negroids" are the lowest on the human chain? Why is it that Africans still live in tribes today and have not invented anything? I am not talking about African-Americans but Africans in Africa. I don't even think Africans have developed writing yet.

      Hi rsalier,

But I don't quite understand why even in Alaska where there is lots of snow and ice the native eskimos do not have blue eyes, why is that? And also in Japan it snows but yet everyone there has black hair and black eyes? Why don't they have blonde hair and blue eyes? So the reason why some Africans still live in tribal situations is because their environment calls for it? I don't quite understand.

NO this is not true. All humans have the same level of potential. But it strongly depends on the quality of life and access to food and medical attention. True, many still live in tribal situations but this cultural adaptation works for the environment in which they live. As for lack of invention, this is quite incorrect. Many Africans have invented many t hings from medicines to new ways of processing solar energy. But as stated, this depends on access to education, food, medical etc... to advance. The current conditions in Africa are deplorable and it can be blamed in part on the European colonization and the subjegation of the peoples of Africa. This includes interferance with their cultural beliefs and ways.

Many Africans write and there are many African languages which are written. In fact several of the oldest writing methods were developed in Africa. These include Hyroglyphics, Phonecian, Hebrew, Rowenean, Tongan and others. There are hundreds of African authors who write everthing from beautiful poetry to novels and scientific journals and non-fiction.

A dear friend of mine from Ghana, is an engineer and architect. He is working to help his people use the wealth of the country to better everyone. He has helped to build schools, medical clinics and water systems that will help bring clean water to every one. He was given the opportunity to study both in Ghana and in South Africa. He has traveled abroad but all of his education was in Africa.

So you see, misconceptions of a whole continent can lead to poor understanding and this may lead to bigotry. From a genetic perspective we are all the same. There is less then .0001% difference between us and these tiny differences means that some of us are more or less suseptable to diseases or are adaptations to environmental conditions. One such is sickel cell anemia which occurs in area with endemic malaria. Or blue eyes in areas with lots of snow and ice. These are adaptive genetic changes, they don't make us different, only look different. We all have the same potential for greatness.
