Hi Barbie,

I am not immediately aware of "social race" being used in any context. Do you perhaps mean "social state" or "social status"?

As for biological race, for many years it was believed by most people that there were deep biological differences among the so-called races of human beings. Westerners frequently advanced the position that Africans and to some degree Asian peoples as well as the aboriginal peoples of Australia, North, South and Central America were biologically distinct and inferior to caucasian Europeans.

Genetic science has proven this view to be nonesense. Human beings belong to a single race - Homo sapiens. All ethnic groups are capable of interbreeding with all other ethnic groups - the definition of a species by the way. Thus, the entire human race is one breeding population. The superficial physical distinctions are exactly that - superficial. Biologically, all humans are the same.

Did I answer your question? If not, please let me know.

Regards,

Paul
