When I was a young child, I saw a few episodes of Battle of the Planets on TV. I also saw a few episodes of Star Blazers. Recently, I rented and watched the Space Battleship Yamato movies from Netflix. And now I'm going through the Battle of the Planets series. When my sister's friend came over tonight, I played an audio recording of the Battle of the Planets theme for him and asked if he recognized it. After a few incorrect guesses, I told him what it was. He said "Yeah, that's right! Boy, it brings back a lot of memories." Anyway, he told me there was another anime series, that was on TV here in the U.S. before Battle of the Planets. I don't remember what he said it was called. I never saw that series, because I came to America in 1978, the first year Battle of the Planets aired. Can you tell me what that first anime series was called? Many thanks, C.L.

Not sure since this is kinda a broad question, but there were these at or before 1978: Chodenjji Robo Combattler V 54 (1976) Combattler V 54 (1976) Panda! Go Panda! (1/2) 1 (1972) 3000 Leagues in Search of Mother 52 (1976) I mean there are tons more, so I will need some other hint to narrow the search down...
