Ham Radio jocase 12/20/06
    Tom,
This is jocase (real name John) from the Catholicism board.
T didn't connect your name from that board to this underused Ham board.

I have a General Class Amateur Radio License and I live in Southern California. I am no active now in hamming but have held the KB6FSC callsign for many years.
I taught electronics as a high school teacher and assisted many of my students in getting on the air.

I would like to get back to hamming on CW. I am in my sixties but had and interest since I was 11.

Do you suppose this ham board will ever get going, or are their too many avenues already on the Internet for hams to interact?

Hi John!

I have an Advanced licence and live in Canada (VE6SJT). I am so busy these days that it has been some time since I have been on the air. If you go to my website (http://discern.ca), I have a link to my ham webpage - not a large amount of information, but just some useful links that I have gathered over the years.

I have not been on CW for some time now. I operate primarily on voice on 2m, and have in the past been active in the past on HF.

Like you, my interest went back to when I was about 11 or 12. Ever since I first turned on a shortwave radio and started tuning across to hear the stations around the world. I am a bit younger than you, but not much. I am in my fifties.

There was a bit of activity on the ham board a couple of years ago, but I doubt that we are going to see much more. I have looked around on AW and very few of the boards are showing much activity - the Christianity board appears to be the most active or one of the most active. But most appear fairly dead. I think that there are just too many possible outlets and people gravitate to those where to they see the activity.
