| Opening Online Transaction History |

Hi.
I assume because of your experience that you'll easily know the answer to my question. I downloaded this history file from my bank's site, and now I want to view it (add it to) in Quicken. When I open the downloaded file it wont open because Windows doesn't know which program to use. Naturally. The question is: precisely which file should I click in the Quicken folder when navigating to the correct program to open this download.
Thanks in advance.

Well, Jeffrey, the answer is don't try to "open" the file outside of Quicken. If it was downloaded as a .QIF file, the only way to work with it is within the Quicken program.
Simply go to Quicken and open the account where these transactions belong (presumably "checking"). Then go to File/Import/Qif File.
Quicken will then split the window and show the trasactions from the QIF file at the bottom of the screen and you can compare them to the register. It will note any matches it finds from the register and give you the option of adding new transactions or deleting unwanted transactions.
I hope this helps. If you need more specific information on working with the QIF, let me know.
