Charity & Donations

My BA is in Development Studies, a sociology-economics hybrid that trains one to run non-profits & advocacies. I have helped establish charitable organizations in Asia and the US, and have also worked with similar groups in Canada and Europe. During my stint in marketing, a good portion of my work was with non-profits that were seeking to strategically use social marketing techniques to develop and manage their donor relationships. I'm looking forward to exchanging notes with all of you!

  • Civic Participation

Ever heard of the Third Sector, aka the Civil Society? The world has always known of the government and the for-profit corporations, but now the realm of non-profits (may they be non-government organizations, people's organizations, public service contractors, etc.) is becoming more active in the way we our world works & develops, and they're not just about charity alone. Let's share ideas on how we can further explore the potential of civic participation, especially through the Third Sector. My BA is in Development Studies, a sociology-economics hybrid that trains one to run non-profits & advocacies, and I've been in everything from street rallies to election monitoring, public awareness campaigns, social marketing thrusts and the like in various continents. I look forward to hearing from you, and I'll always do my best to help!

  • Philippines

Hi! Kumusta kayo? I would like to do my share in helping others objectively undertand what my home country the Philippines is all about. I was born, raised & educated there, I had worked there in a variety of jobs, and traveled a bit around its 7,100+ islands (that makes it the 2nd largest archipelago in the world, second only to Indonesia, did you know that?). The Philippines also has roughly 77 tongues, 13 regions, 75 M people, 100+ indigenous tribes, and a whole lot more worth knowing about . . . so, even if I may not know absolutely everything about the Philippines, I think Ill be of help anyway ;) See you in the boards!

  • Working Abroad

Aside from having really worked in Asia in the field of marketing/market research as well as non-profit management, I was also immersed in life in Western Europe through an exchange program. Now, I work in the recruitment team of an international non-profit that has been sending teams of North American professionals throughout Asia, Europe, and North Africa for roughly 2 decades now. As I reflect on the various expatriates I had interacted in (may they be my teachers, co-workers, friends, clients, employers, etc.) while living in Asia, Europe, and North America, I realize that some were either better or worse at expatriate living than others, so I would now like to do my share to help out :)
