Cooking

    I love to cook, and have been doing it for many years. I love to cook gourmet meals, and also love to cook simple things. I cook, Italian, German, Mexican,and a few dishes from other countries. I am a stickler for authenticity, don care for up-dated versions. I also specialize in Southern cooking, and plain down-home style. I am a Texan, and I can cook up a mean Chicken Fried Steak, or a pot of beans, country style. I love to barbeque, but don do it much as I have two sons that are artists with a smoker or BBQ pit, so I let them cook for mom. Both my daughters can cook, but not like mom, and they don care much for it, but my sons love to do it, and my daughters-in-law appreciate that. We have huge holiday dinners, as all my grandchildren and great-grands live nearby, except one, and the whole gang comes to moms for dinner. Swap recipes, or ask me about a problem you are having. I love to talk cooking.

      I am a certified ceramics instructor, and I also work in porcelaine and stoneware. Not an expert in those two mediums, by any means. I paint in oils (self taught)and pastels. Also do quite a bit in enamel and Lucite, LOL. I love to do my own decorating. What I can answer, I am good with the search engines. I believe you are never to old to learn. I am 68, and still learning every day. There is no limit to how much your brain will hold, and learning keeps you young in heart. Yhe body is going to do its own thing.LOL. I love all kinds of creative projects. I read craft books, and like to sew. I am redoing a bedroom now. Doinf everything myself, including making the upholstered headboard and lace panel curtains. If I can help you with a project, or help you with information about cleaning, painting, or firing ceramics, just ask.

      My dad was an old country veterinarian, and he taught me rom the age of 3 to care for animals. I dont remember a time when I didnt have at least one animal. I am 68 years old, retired, and have plenty of time to search for information to give as helpful an answer as possible. I DO NOT DIAGNOSE!!! I have a great deal of experience in raising, training, and caring for sick animals. I do work with several animal rescue groups in my area, and freely give time to help people take better care of their animals, and understand them. I am a non-militant person, except when it comes to mistreatment of children or animals. I believe we were put on this earth, to live together in peace, and care for each other, whether we have 2 legs or 4, and I am quite vocal about improving the relationship between, and the care of our mother eath, and its creatures, big and small. If I can help you better understand and care for your animal, so that you enjoy the close friendships and loyalty your pet offere to you, then I am willing to go as far as needed to help you. There is n such thing as a stupid question, when you are trying to learn or understand an animal or people. So ask anything, and I will try my best to help you.

      I love gardening. Been doing it most of my 68 years. I have a problem with house plants. I thing I could kill silk flowers, but my hubby grows great house plants. He can grow diddly outside, but I have 2 green thumbs when it comes to outside lawn and gardens. I have fruit trees, and used to grow veggies. Bad back won let me grow a lot of veggies, too much bending. I love growing roses, and my neighborhood calls me the rose queen.LOL. I switched to about 99% organic gardening about 8 years ago. Now I spend less money, time and energy, and get better results. I use herbs for household insect repellants. They work better than the sprays and chemicals, and they don aggravate my allergies and asthma. If I can help you with anything along these lines, I am happy to help. I LOVE talking gradening.

    • Organic Gardening

      I switched to organic fardening about 8 years ago. I grow my own herbs for cooking and aroma therapy. I use herbs and other natural methods of insect control. Since switching to organics, I spend less time, money, and energy, and have a much better looking lawn and garden. I have NO bugs in my house, and organic gardening does not irritate my sinuses and asthma. Also, don have to worry about my grandchildren,dogs or neighborhood cats, being harmed by anything in my yard. I love to talk gardening, and am good with the search engines, if I am not certain of the answer. I would love to help you with lawn and garden questions.

      My dad was an old country vet, and taught me to care for animals, starting at the age of three. I have always had cats and dogs, and also have had other animals. I have raised and shown German Shepherds, and trained dogs for others, untill health problems made that not feasable for me to do any longer. I work with several animal rescue groups, to take in and observe, train a little, and adopt out to suitable families. We are very particular who adopts animals from us. We want to make sure the home we find them in a safe, secure, loving home, and they will not end up as stray or abandoned animals again. Currently, I have an english setter, named Silky, and two adoptees, an Australian shepherd mix named, Rowdy, for obvious reasons, and a little Lhasa mix, maned max. Max is short for Maximilian, after the conqueror of Mexico, because he came here at 6 weeks of age and conquered all in this household. My animals are my babies, and i don part with one, ever!!! They get the same quality of care the 4 legged critters here do. They are treasured members of our family. I am 68 years old, and retired, so I have nothing better to do than obsess over my grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and my dogs.LOL. I love to help people gain a better understanding of animals. God grant the day when humans will appreciate the love and loyalty we get from our animals, and they will be treated with the care they deserve. If I can help you with your animals, I am more than happy to spend the time necessary to search for the best answer for your situation. I DO NOT diagnose, but I share my experience, gladly.

      I have been maintaining a home and lawn and garden for many years. I do my own decorating, including making things like curtains, drapes, etc. I am good at cleaning, and getting out stains. I love a clean laundry. I want white clothes really white, not sort of white. I raised 4 children, and 2 of my grandchildren, and I have taken out about every stain known to man or children.LOL I am glad to help in any way I can.
