Physics
I'm a physicist. I not only use math nearly every day, but I also use physics as well...imagine that! :) I've been working with math/physics, at various levels for over 15 years.
Physics makes us face our common sense and it also tends to force us to face our math skills as well. It's really a beautiful, elegant and powerful field of study. I also think it's greatly misunderstood, and poorly taught in public schools. It's a pleasure to help folks realize that it's not really all that tough, and that is *can* be understood! :)
Sometimes even the easy problems stump me, but I usually can find the solutions. The easy ones are the challenging ones. Those are the ones that make you face your common sense and knowledge of the subject. Of course, the hard ones do that too, but it's much different stumbling over a problem you thought was a no-brainer! I like to use what I've learned to help explain concepts and ideas to folks that I wished I had been told when I was in school. Hopefully I can help you! :) |
