      Hello: I have had family members with addiction problems. In helping them to achieve their goals of stopping and redirecting their lives, it made me become aware of the fact, there is good addictions and bad addictions and when we over do the good it can become bad.       Hello: My knowledge due to my past marriages and having associates that highlightened my awareness in relationships. I crossed barriers of the hurt feelings, and on the other side the immediate happiness one has when finding someone that seems to be interested in what you have to offer. I myself can honestly say, I have never had an extra-marital affair, but the challenges that are there can be rough, and very tempting specially when the one your with does not show you attention and seeks love from someone else.       I have been a Nurse for 29 yrs. . One of my terms of duty was on a reseach team for the University of Iowa Hospitals, survey of health history within a community for a longevity study pertaining to the heart. We collected data to prove we could pre-disclose certain families were capable of having heart dieseases. One of the main findings developed through constant looking at the blood pressure values. By checking blood pressures we found several individuals that fit what many would consider "norm body value", but what was hidden was elevated blood pressure, fortunately they were saved by the findings and their kidneys were not damaged along with keeping them from loosing other body functions.

      Marriage is one area that many of us were not prepared for, not that we did not want to be married or that we dont love the one we have chosen. But, because marriage is a committment, a give and take, learning how to accept those we are not framiliar with, and keeping our mental attitude going in a positive way.       I have lived in unusual situations being ethnic, I have learned to adjust and readjust my cultural skills. I feel I have learned hard lessons and many times it was not easy, but I have survivied. I know the mental disappointments of feeling trapped and disgusted when you have the talent, skills, education and all a job requires, but because of your skin color you don't get the position, and if you do get the job, the hoops you have to jump through, just to survive.

      Hello: I have been on both sides of the "scales".. It is a very difficult position that takes alot of calm, attitude and time to achieve results. I will offer much support. I have been through alot of different trendy and not so trendy diets, just to figure out I do not want to eat special foods and prepare seperate meals for myself and my family. So, in joining TOPS- Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, where I not only lost weight, I was the President of our Chapter, I found we are humans and can eat what we want, it's all about daily caloric intake. I also found that we all have choices, and whatever diet a person chooses, they should not be blamed or made fun of. Diets to me work if a person does not cause their bodies harm. Also, one has to accept themselves no matter how they look, then when they want to change their appearance don't allow yourself to think that unless you look like your neighbor you are unworthy, because you are a product of God, and are worth every ounce of Gold.
