English As A Second Language
The majority of my adult life has been devoted to teaching and studying the English language. I have been teaching at the high school level for twenty-one years, and count among my students many who are new to this country and its language. |

High School
If twenty-one years as a high school teacher doesn't qualify me for experthood, add that I raised a teen of my own through her high school career. I hold a BA in Psychology and an MEd in Special Education and was named Teacher of the Year in 1994-95. If I don't know the answer, I certainly know where to find it. |

Horses
I have been riding, showing and working with horses for over forty years. At present I own and operate a 30-acre horse farm in northwestern New Jersey, where I maintain a herd of nine horses of assorted breeds. I am a member of the AQHA, the APHA, the NJ Horse Council and the NJ Farm Bureau. We run a small lesson program here, and have a certified John Lyons trainer on site. I am expert in horse care issues as well as English riding and training. I try to keep current on the issues facing the horse industry, as well, and have done some rescue work. |

Literacy
With a BA in Psychology and an MEd in Special Education, I have spent my adult life working towards improving communication in English. Teaching
I have been a teacher for more than twenty years and have taught everything from ungraded self-contained elementary school special education classes through middle school, with my last eighteen years spent at the high school level. I have written curricula, devised courses, and acted as a mentor to new teachers. Currently, I am doing in-class support (co-teaching). Keeping abreast of trends in education has been my forte. Teens
Besides having raised a child of my own through her teen years (and we both survived, which is nothing short of amazing!), I have been a high school teacher for eighteen years and taught middle school for the four years preceding this stint. I have a BA in Psychology and an MEd in Special Education. I firmly believe it is possible to raise sane teens in this insane world, but it takes effort and conviction.
