Atheism
I believe in mankind, not in Gods. Toleration is not the opposite of intoleration, but is the counterfeit of it. Both are despotisms. The one assumes to itself the right of withholding liberty of conscience, and the other of granting it. The one is the Pope, armed with fire and faggot, and the other is the Pope selling or granting indulgences. The former is church and state, and the latter is church and traffic. |

Christianity
"These are the times that try men's souls."
I believe in one God, and no more; and I hope for happiness beyond this life. I believe in the equality of man; and I believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy. But, lest it should be supposed that I believe in many other things in addition to these, I shall, in the progress of this work, declare the things I do not believe, and my reasons for not believing them.
I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church.
In my past life I was called Thomas Pain. |

Classic Rock
Boots were of leather A breath of cologne Her mirror was a window She sat quite alone
All around her the garden grew scarlet and purple and crimson and blue
She came and she went and at last went away The garden was sealed when the flowers decayed
On the wall of the garden a legend did say: No one may come here since no one may stay |

Philosophy
Right now I am perceiving my keyboard; my eyes are open and I see the keyboard. I am here and the keyboard there, and between me and the keyboard is nothing. I reach out and touch it and then perceive it by way of touch as well; there is nothing between my fingers and the keyboard and therefor I perceive the keyboard by sight and touch. But is there really nothing between me and the keyboard? For some speculators I am aware of the keyboard only because of the state of my mind. All the while other speculators deny that a person needs to be aware of his internal states in order to be aware of the objects and properties in the world. While I agree it is conceivable that a consciousness of some sort may directly perceive a worldly object, I deny that it could be any perception that could be called knowledge. I believe we stand between perception, and, what we perceive and , that without memory could make no sense of the world; so it is that memory stands between me and the keyboard; so that I can say I do perceive the world directly but what is perceived I cannot know directly. |

Politics
Just lie and say whatever you want to. It has the advantages that you don't need to memorize so many facts, and you can make up new facts when the currently-existing ones don't suit your purposes. The disadvantages are that you might get caught in a lie, and that would destroy your credibility.
"You're never going to make it in politics. You just don't know how to lie." Richard M. Nixon |

Spirituality
To be spiritual, or to lack spirituality has to do in fact with righteousness and righteousness to do with being right. To quote one person…"The territory of right is in general the spiritual, and its more definite place and origin is the will, which is free. Thus, freedom constitutes the substance and essential character of the will, and the system of right is the kingdom of actualized freedom. It is the world of spirit, which is produced out of itself, and is a second nature". |
