Baseball
Baseball is the best professional game to attend because not only are there the intricacies of the game to take in and discuss, but there are lots of fun men in the stands to talk to and hug and kiss when a batter hits a home run.
As a teenager, my father, who was the President of our local Little League, appointed me scorekeeper, so I sat behind the fence next to the announcer, up on a platform making decisions on what was a hit or error, and kept a complete record of the game.
I am proud to say, as a lifelong Chicago resident, that we are the home of the ***World Champion Chicago White Sox***. (and, the Cubs, too) |

Christianity
I was raised as a Catholic and indoctrinated up until the age of 18 when I rejected the religion. After that time I studied Christian Science, the faith of my ex-husband; also, Mormonism(because it is an American religion), then, became a born-again Christian. Lastly, I joined a mainline Protestant Church.
In addition, I read in mythology and scholarly books, joined a Spiritual Group and was a "member" for two years.
I have read about most Christian and Eastern religions, sometimes in depth or just for basic information.
I have answered the question all must answer in order to die peacefully, "What is the meaning of Life?"
Today, I describe myself as a Mature Christian/Secular Humanist/Freethinker/Atheist where labels are required.
I believe we should do unto others as we would have others do unto us...
and, that an active connection and appreciation and understanding (as adults) for "Intagibles" and "Ethics" is of primary importance to the individual.
In addition, I believe in:
Optimism rather than pessimism;
Hope in place of despair;
Learning in the place of dogma;
Joy not sin and guilt;
Compassion in place of selfishness;
Laughter over stultifying seriousness;
Lifetime learning and education;
AND, Reason over blind faith or irrationality.

Dogs
I am an expert in Dog Training and Behavior because when I was young, I took dog training(obedience) lessons with a friend; we trained our family pets, my dog, an Irish Setter, and hers, a Norwegian Elkhound.
Then, I participated in local Dog Shows in both confirmation and obedience trials with Rusty.
In addition, I have read and studied the writings of Nicholas Dodson, a prominent Doctor of Veterinary Medicine specializing in cat and animal behavior. |

I am an expert in etiquette and manners because my mother was from a good family and insisted on good manners; I learned well from her words and her example.

Golf
I am an expert in golf because I was coached by my father who was a well-known amateur golfer in our area.
We played many rounds of golf and had much enjoyment out in the beautiful countryside.
In addition, my husband and I played many interesting rounds of golf together and with his family at great golf courses.

Social Work (Services)
After I graduated from college, I worked as a certified social worker for the Cook County Department of Public Aid(now renamed)for six years. There I determined who was elegible for Welfare and who needed what social services.
The final three years I was the only medical case worker for the area including the entire western suburbs of Chicago. |
